Your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the UK GDPR, and how to use them.

01Who this applies to

GlobalFutureNetwork is run by Future Leaders Network Limited, a company established in the United Kingdom, so the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply to everything we do with personal data, wherever you live. Where the EU GDPR also applies to you, you have the same rights under it. Our full Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.

02Your rights

  • Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: ask us to fix data that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Deletion: ask us to delete your data where we no longer need it or you withdraw consent.
  • Restriction: ask us to pause using your data while a concern is checked.
  • Objection: object to use based on our legitimate interests, and to any direct marketing.
  • Portability: receive the data you gave us in a common, machine readable format.
  • Withdraw consent: at any time, for example by unsubscribing from emails. This does not affect what we did before.

03How to use your rights

Email customersupport@globalfuturenetwork.com with the subject Data request, saying which right you want to use. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We reply within one month, which can be extended by two more months for complex requests. Using your rights is free unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.

04Automated decisions

We do not make selection decisions by automated means alone. Every scholarship application is reviewed by people.

05Keeping your data safe

We use access controls, encrypted connections and reputable service providers to protect your data, and we limit access to staff who need it. If a breach puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

06Complaints

Please contact us first so we can try to help. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority:

  • United Kingdom: Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk, our lead supervisory authority
  • If you live in the EU, you can also contact the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.
