01About this policy
This policy applies to every payment made to GlobalFutureNetwork ("GFN", "we", "us") for the International Youth Leadership Dialogue 2027 ("IYLD 2027") and any other GFN event or service, unless a written offer for a specific event says otherwise. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions.
All amounts are charged in pounds sterling (GBP). Please read this policy before you pay. By completing a payment you confirm that you have read and accepted it.
02Application processing fees
The application processing fee for the Fully Funded and Partially Funded categories (currently £13.99) pays for the assessment of your application by our selection panel.
- The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable once processing has started, unless the law requires otherwise.
- Paying the fee does not guarantee a seat. Funded seats are awarded on merit.
- Not being selected, being placed on a waitlist, or withdrawing your application does not entitle you to a refund.
- Processing starts as soon as your payment is confirmed, because you ask us to begin assessing your application straight away.
03Official Invitation Letter
The Official Invitation Letter (currently £79) is a personalised document prepared from the details you give us.
- If you cancel in writing before we start preparing your letter, we will refund the fee in full.
- Once we have started preparing, issued or delivered your letter, the service is fully performed and the fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
- An invitation letter supports your visa application. It does not guarantee that a visa will be granted. See Visa refusals.
04Premium Access Pass and Self Funded package
If you cancel a Premium Access Pass or a Self Funded package, the value you receive depends on how far ahead of the event start date (15 April 2027 for IYLD 2027) we receive your written cancellation:
| When we receive your cancellation | What you receive |
|---|---|
| 45 days or more before the event | 100% of the eligible fee as a GFN Credit Voucher |
| 30 to 44 days before the event | 50% of the eligible fee as a GFN Credit Voucher (50% cancellation charge) |
| 15 to 29 days before the event | 25% of the eligible fee as a GFN Credit Voucher (75% cancellation charge) |
| Less than 15 days before the event | No refund and no voucher. This is treated as a late cancellation or no show. |
The "eligible fee" is the amount you paid for the pass or package, less any application processing fee, invitation letter fee, or third party costs we have already paid on your behalf, such as non-refundable hotel bookings.
Partially paid registrations, unfinished instalment plans, promotional or discounted registrations sold as non-refundable, complimentary registrations and previously issued vouchers do not qualify for a voucher or refund unless we say otherwise in writing.
05GFN Credit Vouchers
- A GFN Credit Voucher is valid for 12 months from the date it is issued, unless stated otherwise.
- It is issued to the original participant only and can be used towards future eligible GFN events or services.
- It cannot be sold, exchanged for cash or paid out by bank transfer, and it is not transferable unless we agree in writing.
- If your voucher is worth more than your new registration, the balance stays on the voucher until it expires. If the new registration costs more, you pay the difference.
- A voucher cannot itself be refunded or turned into another voucher. Unused balances expire at the end of the validity period.
06Cash refunds
We do not normally give cash refunds. We will refund money only where this policy says so, where we approve it in writing, where a specific event offer says so, or where the law requires it.
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and are based on the amount we actually received. We are not responsible for bank charges, card fees or exchange rate differences.
07How to cancel or ask for a refund
Cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing. Not turning up is treated as a no show and does not qualify for a refund or voucher.
Email customersupport@globalfuturenetwork.com with the subject line Refund request: IYLD 2027 and include:
- your full name and the email you registered with
- the event name and your participation category
- your application reference (for example IYLD27-ABC123) or payment receipt number
- the payment method and payment date
- the reason for your request, with any supporting documents
We aim to reply within 10 working days. Incomplete requests may take longer, and we may ask you for more information. Sending a request does not mean it will be approved. Vouchers are sent by email to your registered address. Banks set their own timelines for returning money to your account.
08Visa refusals
GFN does not issue visas and cannot guarantee that any visa will be granted. Decisions are made solely by the authorities of the host country, which for IYLD 2027 is UK Visas and Immigration.
A visa refusal, delay, appointment problem, embassy closure, document issue or refusal of entry at the border does not on its own entitle you to a refund, voucher, compensation or reimbursement, unless a specific written offer from us or the law says otherwise. The same applies if you do not apply for a visa, apply too late, or decide not to travel.
Apply for your visa as early as you can, and buy travel insurance that covers visa refusal and cancellation.
09Travel and personal circumstances
We are not responsible for losses linked to your own flights, transport or accommodation, or for cancellations caused by illness, work or study commitments, family matters or a change of plans. We strongly recommend travel insurance.
10Fully Funded travel
Where a Fully Funded award includes return airfare, the way it is provided (booked by us or reimbursed to you) is set out in your award letter. Where it is reimbursed, payment is normally made 4 to 8 weeks after the event ends and after we have checked your receipts and boarding passes. Missing documents, non attendance or false information can cancel your entitlement.
11Changes, postponement and cancellation by GFN
- Programme changes. Changes to speakers, sessions, schedules or venue are not by themselves grounds for a refund. Where possible we will offer a comparable alternative.
- Postponement. If we move the event to a new date, your registration moves with it. If you cannot attend the new date we may offer a voucher, a transfer to another event or another solution, assessed case by case.
- Cancellation by GFN. If we cancel an event and do not replace it, we will offer a transfer, a voucher, a replacement service, or a refund where the law requires it or we approve it, taking into account services already provided.
- Events beyond our control. We are not liable for disruption caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, government action, strikes or security threats. In these cases we may reschedule, relocate, change or replace services, transfer your participation or issue a voucher. Refund requests are then assessed under our Terms and applicable law.
12Wrong category and duplicate payments
If you pay for the wrong category we may correct your registration, apply your payment to the right category, ask you to pay the difference, or issue a credit. Wrong category payments do not automatically qualify for a cash refund. Verified duplicate payments are refunded or corrected after review.
13Groups
Application fees for group members are non-refundable once processing starts. Group registrations are not automatically transferable, and replacing a member needs our written approval. Removing a member does not automatically entitle the group to a proportional refund, and one member's visa refusal does not entitle the rest of the group to a refund. A signed group agreement takes priority where its terms differ.
14Promotions
Offers clearly marked before purchase as non-refundable, final sale, promotional or subject to special cancellation terms follow those terms.
15Chargebacks and disputes
Please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank. Most issues are resolved faster that way. We may contest chargebacks and provide records of your application, payment, communications, the services delivered and your participation. Fraudulent or bad faith chargebacks may lead to cancellation of your registration, exclusion from future events and recovery of the amounts involved.
16False information and misuse
We may refuse discretionary refunds, vouchers or transfers where there is reasonable evidence of false information, forged documents, misuse of our services, fraudulent payment, or a serious breach of our Terms.
17Affiliate commissions
Affiliate commissions are earned only on valid payments that are kept. Refunded, reversed, charged back, cancelled or fraudulent payments do not earn commission, and commission may be held while a voucher is outstanding. Commission already paid on such payments may be deducted from future earnings.
18Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, or the consumer law of the country you live in where it applies to you.
When you buy a service online you normally have 14 days to cancel. If you ask us to start the service within those 14 days, for example by asking us to begin processing your application or preparing your letter straight away, you lose the right to cancel once the service has been fully performed, and you may have to pay for any part already provided. Event passes and packages for a specific date, such as IYLD 2027, are leisure services that are not covered by the 14 day cancellation right; cancellation of those is set out in this policy.
19Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes apply from the date shown at the top of this page and do not take away rights you had already gained where the law does not allow that.
